An economic revolution towards a system of universal benefit

What is the future you aspire to? And how can you contribute to make it happen? These two questions laid the groundwork for the roundtable discussion A New Economy for the Universal Human Nation at the Humanist Forum 2018. Different representatives of new trends in the sector participated in this meeting to present their proposals for transformation. All of these have in common the search for a more just and supportive economy, reducing inequality and ensuring the benefit of all human beings. (more…)

Opening day of the European Humanist Forum

Over 500 people came to the opening session of EHF2018, with people overflowing into three extra rooms after having filled the auditorium at the UNED Faculty of Education Sciences.

The atmosphere was joyful in this latest gathering of the European Humanist Forum, the last one being in Milan in 2008.

On the 11th of May, the opening session of the 5th European Humanist Forum took place.  It was held in the UNED Faculty of Education Sciences in the presence of people and organisations from 40 countries, mostly Europeans, but also Asians, Africans and Americans. (more…)

Mayte Quintanilla: “Creating alternatives to today’s world is an act of freedom that unites us”

Mayte Quintanilla, an activist for a universal and unconditional basic income, is a long-time humanist who has been working for decades to transform the world around her in the political and social fields.

She will participate in the European Humanist Forum 2018 in the area of A New Economy for the Universal Human Nation and as a speaker at the opening session, but she is also one of the protagonists in the documentary film that will premiere at this event “UBI, our right to live“, directed by the filmmaker Álvaro Orus.

World premiere of the documentary: “UBI, Our Right to Live” in #EHF018

The world premiere of the documentary on Universal and Unconditional Basic Income “UBI, Our Right to Live” will be on 12 May, at 12 noon in the European Humanist Forum as part of the working area “A New Economy for the Universal Human Nation“.

Director Álvaro Orús and some of the Spanish “protagonists”, such as Julen Bollain and Mayte Quintanilla, will be present.

#EHF2018: What unites us towards the Universal Human Nation

With the slogan “What unites us towards the Universal Human Nation”, the 5th European Humanist Forum will take place on the 11th, 12th and 13th of May in Madrid.  The opening session will take place in the Education Science Faculty of Spain’s Distance Education University and on Saturday and Sunday, events will take place at the El Pozo Cultural Centre.
